This weekend I got a glimpse into the lives of the elderly when my ancient grandparents visited from California. They were my age in the middle of the last century! It came in quite handy on my first metro ride when spry young folks offered up their seats. I had so much fun with them that I realized that senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose in society. I was also happy to learn that I share the same bedtime as my Pappie, who almost certainly also enjoys a midnight snack when Grandma isn't looking. I hope to see them again soon in Cali where my Pappie and I can catch an afternoon ballgame before hitting the Santa Monica Senior Center for half-price steak dinners in the late afternoon followed by a few low-stakes rounds of bingo.

Welcome Back Bubbe and Pappie

Levi Le Bebe Meet Claude Monet
After meeting my dad's co-workers and getting my diaper changed on the Honorable Congresswoman's scarlet office carpeting we headed out for a taxpayer funded "mind stimulus package" at the National Portrait Gallery. While scoping out paintings for purchase when I am a big time Wall Street fat cat, I enjoyed staring at the contrast between black and white, just perfect for my developing eye sight! My eye sight is better than both my mom and dad's combined considering they can't read signs and we got a huge parking ticket. I thorougly enjoyed it and think it was a good warm up to heading to the Louvre.
Solomon's Island
My first big car trip. Okay... it was only an hour and a half and I slept through it and once we got there it was freezing, but it still counts for something. Dad had the day off! We had a yummy lunch where several people obviously chose tables away from us thinking I was one of those babies that cry at restaurants. There are perks to having a whole section to ourselves! We went to Rita's so mom and dad could get some "adult milk" while I watched a group of high school kids skateboarding in the parking lot. Mom asked me to not grow up to be a delinquent and dad wanted to relive his glory days by blasting Pearl Jam as we peeled out of the parking lot. It was a great day and I think even Sasha had a good time!

2 Month Birthday!
Weighing in at 14.2 pounds and in the 90th percentile, I continue to leave all of those average babies behind! Already wearing size 6 month clothing, I have my parents guessing whether I will be a linebacker or a power forward. One day my mom woke up to realize that I had grown thick, lustrous eyelashes overnight which I continue to bat at her all day long. Those combined with my signature bottom lipped pout make her putty in my hands. My favorite time of day is "tubby wubby" time. I have an army of rubber duckies and love to kick and splash to delay bedtime. Being a connoisseur of the finer things in life, I prefer to have my monkey hooded towel heated gently in the dryer for two minutes prior to exiting the tubby. I am matching my manly love of all things sports with a touch of the feminine side. I can be found trying to crane my neck to get a glimpse of Project Runway (Go Seth Aaron), love to read People with my mom (I can't believe Kendra hasn't lost the baby weight), and am mesmerized by watching my mom do her hair (why doesn't she just wear it curly??). I was also caught trying to look at the TV during a segment on younger looking skin...my one month old skin was just so much softer and supple. Don't worry, I am updated on all of the sports action and was excited to see that Phil "Milk"ilson won the Masters. Overall, 2 months is pretty great. I have a good bedtime and I am getting up twice a night for snacks but go right back to sleep before I make it back to the crib. Now if only mom and dad would quit smooching me so much, it's soooo embarrassing.

Eastover

It seems like just yesterday, the world was covered in snow and I had all my hair. Boy, how times have changed. The sun is shining and spring has brought wonderful holidays. Here is my basic understanding of this month's religious events...A long time ago a bunny died for our sins, fortunately that bunny rose from the dead and led the Israelites out of slavery and out of Egypt. Wandering through the desert and with many hungry Israelites to feed, the bunny started laying many delicious and chocolaty Cadbury Eggs. As the Israelites put on fancy dresses and hats and quickly tried to eat their melty chocolate eggs under the Sinai sun, the Egyptians approached and they were mad as hell because the bunny dropped ten plaques on them and because they couldn't get a reservation for Sunday brunch anywhere in town. After conferring with the burning bush, the bunny parted the sea providing safe passage of the Israelites to the Easter egg roll on the White House lawn. Having endured 10 weeks of eating fish on Friday, the Israelites were thrilled to see French President Nicholas Sarkozy at the White House and to head with him to Ben's Chili Bowl for Half-Smokes. So, that about wraps it up.
