Welcome Back Bubbe and Pappie

This weekend I got a glimpse into the lives of the elderly when my ancient grandparents visited from California. They were my age in the middle of the last century! It came in quite handy on my first metro ride when spry young folks offered up their seats. I had so much fun with them that I realized that senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose in society. I was also happy to learn that I share the same bedtime as my Pappie, who almost certainly also enjoys a midnight snack when Grandma isn't looking. I hope to see them again soon in Cali where my Pappie and I can catch an afternoon ballgame before hitting the Santa Monica Senior Center for half-price steak dinners in the late afternoon followed by a few low-stakes rounds of bingo.

  1. Levi, you got it absolutely right. As my Pappa used to say, you sure are a fart smeller. Oops, I mean a smart feller. Grandma and I went online after our visit with you and found a cool new thing to buy. It's this great combo device called a "walkoller". The geniuses out here in California have found a way to weld a walker (complete with tennis balls on the legs) and a stroller together. This is great news !! When you get out West we'll be able to take you for a nice walk in this contraption. We won't be going anywhere in a hurry, and we won't get very far, but at least we'll be walkollering with you. Watch out skateboarders - Levi is coming to town !

    Love,

    Pappie
